- Old Tucker’s Town Graveyard Observance on Saturday 1st October at 2 pm – celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Marsden Church, followed by a historical display at Marsden Church Rolando Hall. Free.
- Designing Bermuda’s Tourism Boom (of old): A Study in Black and White. Wednesday 5th October at 7 pm, Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute hosted by the Historical Heartbeats Lecture Series, Department of Community & Cultural Affairs. Free.
- 2011 PGA Golf Grand Slam in Bermuda. Begins Monday, October 17 with the Pro-Am, and the Grand Slam itself will follow on October 18-19. Bermuda’s Port Royal Golf Course. Top players from the US Tour and world compete for the ultimate prize.
- YES Classic Golf tournament, Belmont Hills Golf Club. Annual event (since 2004) of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
- Beat Retreat. October 5, King’s Square, St. George’s and October 26, Front Street, Hamilton. 9 pm. Always popular with visitors and locals alike, this highly entertaining event features military music, popular show tunes, contemporary composers and marching formations performed by the Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums and the Bermuda Island Pipe Band and Dancers. Beat Retreat is a long-standing British Army tradition performed in the evening or on special days by those army units that have military bands. Years ago, the British Army had a permanent presence in Bermuda.
- Fifth Bermuda Documentary Film Festival, featuring 10 of the world’s best documentary films. Tradewinds Auditorium, Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, October 21-23.
- CURB’s Teachers Workshop, 15th October at 12:30 pm, Newstead Belmont Hills. Call 542-2872 to register.
- Human Rights Commission’s Roadshow, Whitney Institute, 20th October, 2011, 6p.m.
- 15th Annual Bermuda Music Festival 2011, continuation from September 2011.
