Bermuda is considered amongst fans of marine exploration as one of the best place on Earth for scuba-diving.
There are hundreds of miles of coral reefs surrounding the island of Bermuda. These protect it from the strongest currents and waves, providing perfect the habitat for numerous species of fish and other marine creatures. Add to this the nearly 300 shipwrecks sitting on the sea floor and you’ll understand why divers and snorkelers come from all over to explore these waters.
It is not easy to make a choice between all the diving sites and companies available. Reviewers at Trip Advisor though have called Triangle Diving, in Hamilton parish the best diving centre in Bermuda:
“Outstanding diving experience”, “Best diving experience I’ve ever had.”…
Triangle Diving is located at the east end of the island, in the Grotto Bay Beach resort. This is about 7 miles from the North Rock diving site, one of the many sites the centre can take you to. North Rock is Bermuda’s largest coral reef, covering a shallow area of about a 1,000 meters radius. The reef has been the scene of many ship wrecks. This is because it is located close to the surface of the water, with depths within 25 feet. It is therefore an ideal site to go snorkeling and scuba-diving.
Triangle Diving is a 5-star PADI certified facility, offering various diving courses and expeditions. The outlet incorporates different types of diving. These include having 2 tanks dives for certified divers, 1 tank dives for inexperienced divers, night dives and snorkeling. The centre will allow you to choose between half a dozen of the shipwrecks in Bermuda to dive. These cover the largest of Bermuda, the Cristobal Colon. Measuring 499 feet long, she sank in 1936 and is scattered across an area of 100,000 square meters, in 55 feet of water.
There are three other main sites made accessible by Triangle Diving. The Cathedral is a popular diving site, near Gurnet Rock, which is rich in marine life. It is an underwater dome with many window-like holes which let the light in, giving it the appearance of a cathedral. Its depth ranges between 30 and 45 feet.
Flatt’s Bridge (depth range 6 to 30 feet) is a site that must be dived during slack water, for about 20 minutes of calm water. The Devil’s Hole is a relatively shallow site, providing shelter for marine species that usually don’t live in outer reefs. It is surrounded by many caves and caverns.
The staff at Triangle Diving is regularly praised for their knowledge and accessibility. As one of their customers wrote in Trip Advisor:
“Excellent staff make this Bermuda’s best dive shop.”
